Clear skies in the afternoon gave us the opportunity to see Crater Lake in all its jewel-like beauty. This view of the lake and Wizard Island is from The Watchman area. Seasonal pollen from pine trees in the area has been heavy this spring, and you can see yellow streaks of the pollen where it has accumulated along the shorelines. Such a beautiful place! Central Oregon’s Deschutes River turns golden on a hot summer afternoon. This was a long exposure shot that smoothed out the river’s flow and picked up the colors of the rocks beneath the river’s surface, creating a river of gold. It almost looks like an artist’s watercolor painting.
