The Beauty of Crater Lake, Crater Lake National Park, Oregon

Clear skies in the afternoon gave us the opportunity to see Crater Lake in all its jewel-like beauty. This view of the lake and Wizard Island is from The Watchman area. Seasonal pollen from pine trees in the area has been heavy this spring, and you can see yellow streaks of the pollen where it has accumulated along the shorelines. Such a beautiful place! Ancient White Bark Pine Tree, Crater Lake National Park, Oregon

Afternoon clouds fill the sky and begin to cast shadows at Crater Lake National Park, but this gnarly ancient white bark pine tree is still in the sun. This interesting tree is located on the crater rim at an elevation of about 2200 meters, overlooking Wizard Island and the lake.
